EDMONTON
Edmonton is the capital of the province of Alberta and also it’s second largest city with population 812,201 (Edmonton metropolitan area 1,159,869). Edmonton is a cultural, governmental and educational centre. It hosts a year-round slate of festivals, reflected in the nickname "The Festival City." It is home to North America's largest mall, West Edmonton Mall (the world's largest mall from 1981 until 2004), and Fort Edmonton Park, Canada's largest living history museum.

Most of Edmonton's population works in the service and trade industries as well as in the municipal, provincial and federal governments. Edmonton, Alberta is located on the North Saskatchewan River near the centre of the province of Alberta. City has a fairly dry climate, with warm summers and cold winters.
Edmonton has one of the best educational systems in North America and is the home of the University of Alberta (Canada’s third largest), the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (one of the largest in Canada) and Grant MacEwan Community College (Alberta’s largest). Alberta offers the lowest income tax rates in Canada and some of the lowest in North America.
